BEAUTIFUL CROWNS IN LOS ALAMITOS & LAKEWOOD
Cosmetic dental crowns are placed over cracked, decayed, worn-down, damaged or misshapen teeth. They essentially act as tooth “armor”, strengthening and preserving your original tooth while protecting it from further damage. Dental crowns restore the natural size and shape of your tooth, making your bite feel more comfortable and natural.
At Restore Health Dentistry, we can personalize your dental crown with aesthetically-pleasing, high-quality materials such as porcelain, ceramic, and zirconia.
DENTAL CROWNS: KNOW THE BENEFITS
Your dental crown will have numerous benefits for your future health and appearance, from helping you feel better about what you see in the mirror to restoring your ability to smile, eat, drink, and speak with comfort and confidence.
At Restore Health Dentistry, each dental crown is individually crafted to suit your unique smile, for results that complement your personality and are virtually undetectable from regular healthy teeth. A dental crown can last for many years with proper care at home and at the dentist.
HOW WILL RESTORE HEALTH DENTISTRY INSERT MY COSMETIC CROWN?
Today, getting dental crowns is easier than ever. First, Dr. William will determine if you’ll need a root canal or similar restorative dental care before your crown is inserted. This is typically done on a case-by-case basis depending on the amount of tooth decay present. Next, parts of the outside of the tooth will be filed down to accommodate the thickness of the dental crown. A foundation may be added to the base if the tooth needs additional support.
An impression of the tooth is then made to ensure the perfect size and shape for your mouth, and a temporary crown will be inserted while waiting for the permanent one. In about two weeks, your crown will arrive at our office. We will schedule a follow up appointment where Dr. William will place your permanent crown. The final step? Relax and enjoy your beautifully restored smile!
ARE DENTAL BRIDGES A BETTER OPTION FOR MY NEEDS?
While cosmetic crowns are used to strengthen and protect damaged teeth, dental bridges are a great solution to replace missing teeth. Bridges fill the spaces left after tooth loss with strong, healthy looking replacement teeth (crowns). This is done by permanently bonding together the adjacent teeth, which means the bridge can only be removed by a dental professional.
UNDERSTANDING DENTAL BRIDGES
While cosmetic crowns are used to strengthen and protect damaged teeth, dental bridges are a great solution to replace missing teeth. This is done by permanently bonding together the adjacent teeth, which means the bridge can only be removed by a dental professional.
HOW WILL RESTORE HEALTH DENTISTRY INSERT MY DENTAL BRIDGE?
First, we will prepare the teeth neighboring your missing tooth or teeth by carefully reshaping their outer surface to accommodate the bridge. Next, an impression of the area will be made, and a false tooth will be fabricated to fit perfectly into your smile. Once the replacement tooth is ready, it will be cemented to the two adjacent teeth, which may be either your natural teeth or crowns.
